Ted DiBiase is in his dressing room and Cody asks him if he is proud of himself and Ted says that he is proud that he qualified. Cody mentions that he had to face John Cena while Ted only had to wrestle Mark Henry. Ted says that if Cody would have beaten Cena, he would be in the chamber match. Ted says that now people can see that he is better than Cody. Cody asks if it was the movie that makes him better. Randy slides in and he asks Ted if Ted thinks that he is better than Randy. Ted says that we will find out at the Elimination Chamber. Randy tells Ted that he will be facing John Cena tonight. Randy tells Cody to hide his smile because Randy reminds Cody that he cost him the match at the Royal Rumble against Sheamus. Randy tells Cody that he appreciates the effort and then he tells Cody that he will have to face him tonight.
Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton
Cody tells Randy that he doesn’t want to do this. Then they argue before Randy pushes Cody. Randy pushes Cody some more as he wants an explanation. Cody slaps Orton’s hand away but Orton with a kick. Cody with a drop kick for a near fall. They lock up and Orton with a punch out of the break. Cody with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Randy drops Cody on the top rope and Rhodes holds his midsection. Orton with a kick to the midsection followed by a punch to the head. Orton puts Rhodes on the top turnbuckle and Orton punches Rhodes and he goes up for a superplex. Rhodes knocks Orton off the turnbuckles but Cody misses a cross body. Orton with the RKO push ups as he waits for Cody to get up. Sheamus comes into the ring long enough to distract Orton and that gives Rhodes the chance to hit Cross Rhodes for the three count.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
After the match, Sheamus with a kick to Orton’s head. Cody comes into the ring with a chair as Sheamus leaves the ring.
Randy Orton comes to the ring and he takes so long we need to go to commercial mid-entrance.
We are back with the WWE Rewind: Sheamus defeating Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble thanks to Cody Rhodes’ interference. Followed by Orton freaking out on Rhodes and DiBiase.
Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Shawn and Randy stare at each other before locking up and Orton backs Michaels into the corner and Orton stares at Michaels. They lock up again and Orton looks at Michaels again and then he looks at the announce table. Orton misses a punch and Michaels with chops. Michaels with a swinging neck breaker followed by a boot to the head. Orton goes to the floor and Michaels chases after him.
Backstage, Ted DiBiase approached Randy Orton and said he was there for him tonight. Orton asked where Cody was, and DiBiase said he didn’t know, and that all Cody has been talking about is winning the Rumble. Orton said he was about to go beat Sheamus, and he doesn’t need Cody or Ted to do it.
WWE Champion Sheamus vs Randy Orton
They reviewed the events leading to this match as Sheamus came to the ring. Orton came out second, to a more positive reaction, while they showed how he laid out Sheamus on Raw last week. Then they did the “big match” introductions for both men. Jerry Lawler pointed out the differences in skin color between the two Caucasians. Seriously.
The two men had a staredown at the bell, with chants starting up for Orton. They locked up and Orton grabbed a side headlock. They collided on a shoulderblock as Sheamus shoved him off, then Orton blasted him with a standing dropkick. They locked up again, and Orton backed Sheamus into the ropes. Orton hit a forearm, but Sheamus came back with a double axhandle, then hit an armbreaker. Orton rolled to the floor, and Sheamus followed, laying him out on the floor with a forearm uppercut. Sheamus slammed Orton’s arm into the steel ringsteps. Back in the ring, Sheamus applied an armbar on the injured arm. Sheamus picked up Orton for a slam, but Orton floated out of it and hit a chopblock to the leg.
WWE wrestler Randy Orton didn’t believe us when we told him about Chris Jericho and Greg “Hurricane” Helms’ arrests — because, according to him, wrestlers “Don’t get in trouble.”
There was a lot of buzz at this week’s WWE TVs that Randy Orton has signed a long-term contract with the company. Dave Meltzer is reporting the contract could be a ten-year deal.
