The show opens with Lilian Garcia introducing tonight’s guest host, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Dusty talks about how he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2003. He then says he loves his son Cody Rhodes, and says “I know” before the crowd has a chance to boo. He says there is nothing a father wouldn’t do with his son. He talks about the Randy Orton vs. John Cena “I Quit” match at Breaking Point. Dusty makes a match for tonight – Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the WWE title. He says he’ll be in Cody’s corner during the match. He also says the special referee will be John Cena. This cues Randy Orton’s music as he makes his way to the ring. Orton tells Dusty he thinks he’s jealous of him because his son Cody loves him more than his own father. He asks Dusty what makes him think Cody will even accept the match. Orton says he should kick Dusty in the skull again. This cues Cody Rhodes’ music and out comes the Legacy member to the ring. Cody tells Orton this man you happened to kick in the head two years ago happens to be his father. He tells Orton they’re associates, perhaps even friends. He says but this is a golden opportunity and one he will not pass up. He says he intends to become the youngest WWE champion in history tonight. He tells Orton it isn’t personal – it’s strictly business.

Backstage we see Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. DiBiase asks him if he really wants to go through with this. Rhodes says when DiBiase’s dad was host he got a nice spotlight, tonight he’s going to make the most of this opportunity. Randy Orton walks in and asks Cody if he’s really going through with this. Rhodes says yes. Orton says just like you said earlier, no matter what happens in this ring tonight – it’s only business, not personal.

Dusty Rhodes is on the outside in Cody’s corner for this match. Before the match even begins, Dusty gets on the microphone and apologizes to Cena. He says like he mentioned earlier – there is nothing a father wouldn’t do for his son. With that said, Orton and Rhodes attack Cena. DiBiase runs down to join in on the fun. They continue the beat down until D-X’s music hits. HBK and HHH come out and clean house. They looked to have finished things up until Dusty comes in and whacks HHH with his boot. Orton and Legacy come back in the ring and beat down D-X and Cena some more. Loud “Cena, Cena” chant from the crowd. Orton, Legacy and Dusty join hands and raise their arms up in victory. The crowd boo’s. Orton turns around and RKOs Dusty out of nowhere. “I don’t think that was part of the plan” says Lawler as Rhodes looks insanely pissed. Orton does the slow stare to Rhodes. The show ends on that note.

Orton reached deep down in his bag of tricks at SummerSlam, but nothing worked. It wasn’t until Brett DiBiase attacked the ref that The Legend Killer was able to take out John Cena to retain his gold.

Source: WWE top brass gave the bullet to Eugene — for being too much of a porker.

Eugene, real name Nick Dinsmore, was handed another chance by wrestling’s biggest company after close pal Randy Orton begged bosses to take him back.

But tubby Dinsmore failed make the grade after reporting for duty overweight — leaving WWE champ Orton gutted.

Speaking at a SummerSlam promo, Orton said: “Eugene was just given a second chance.

“He came back two weeks ago and came in a little heavy from where [management] wanted him to come in.

“Nick is a good friend of mine. I pulled some strings to get his job back and he comes back all overweight.

“So all in all, I am a little upset with right now with him.”

Orton on screen saying he defeated Cena. A fan rushed the ring and attacked the ref. Afterward Orton hit an RKO. But it wasn’t just a fan, was it Ted? Ted was in the screen and he said it was his brother Brett. Brett stands next to Ted. Brett bought a ticket and felt he had to get involved. Orton berated him for getting involved and that his Brother Ted would know better than do such a thing. The camera opened up further to show Cody on Orton’s other side. He says Orton would have won the match no matter what. Orton says he is and will remain WWE Champion.

But then Legacy is there and on the attack. HBK gets away and comes back with a chair. Legacy flees. Orton’s on the stage. HHH says since the Legacy girls didn’t get enough last night and Mayweather isn’t there yet, HHH is going to make a little match! Tonight it will be Legacy and Orton against DX and their partner Vince! Vince doesn’t look thrilled about this. Vince says it’s a No DQ Match! Vince then says he’s always wanted to do this… If you’re not down with that, we have two words for you… Crotch chops from HHH and HBK. Vince gets a DX hat and puts it on to show solidarity.
